Review/approve previous minutes
Susie made a motion to approve the previous minutes
James seconded the motion.
All voted yes; the previous minutes were approved.
Athletic Director Report
N/A
Treasury Report
MinistrySafe costs $400 a year. We have been using cross country’s account for both cross country and basketball.
Secretary Report
Uniforms were tried on. Order should be put in by the end of this week. Epic funds clarification: We do not accept Epic funds, but we do accept Epic students.
Old Business
Tryouts/evaluation schedule (Billy/Susie will contact coaches to confirm schedule.)
New Business
Assistant Coach Approval
James made a motion to approve Charla Hodges as the 12 girls’ assistant coach; Susie seconded the motion. All voted yes; Charla Hodges will be the assistant coach for the 12 girls.
12u boys’ coaching staff was voted on/approved in a previous meeting.
James made a motion to approve Hannah Grady as the JH girls’ assistant coach; Erin seconded the motion. All voted yes; Hannah Grady will be the assistant coach for the JH girls.
Susie made a motion to approve Jeremy Hodges and Jack Henry Dutcher as the JH boys’ assistant coaches; Craig seconded the motion. All voted yes; Jeremy and Jack Henry will be the assistant coaches for the JH boys. (James abstained.)
James made a motion to approve Erin Gerlt and Murel Taylor as the HS girls’ assistant coaches; Susie seconded the motion. All voted yes; Erin Gerlt and Murel Taylor will be the assistant coaches for the HS girls.
Susie made a motion for Andrew Dudleson and Hunter Wilson to be assistant coaches for the JV boys; Craig seconded the motion. All voted yes; Andrew and Hunter will be assistant coaches for the JV boys. (James abstained.)
James made a motion to approve Chad Gerlt as the Varsity boys’ assistant coach; Craig seconded the motion. All voted yes; Chad will be the Varsity boys’ assistant coach.
Player fees for 2025-2026
James made a motion to table the fee discussion until we get a financial report; Kelly seconded the motion. All voted yes; the motion was tabled.
Season Start Date
James made a motion for practices to begin on Monday, September 15th; Susie seconded the motion. All voted yes; season practices/conditioning will begin on September 15, 2025.
Tryouts/Evaluations
There will be a $20 tryout fee for new athletes that will later be applied to their player fees for the 2025-2026 season. Before tryouts, we will hold a mandatory informational parent/player meeting on Tuesday, August 19. Tryouts will be held on Saturday, August 23. Post tryouts/evaluations, coaches are encouraged to hold a team-specific meeting.
Website update
Craig will add new information to the website, including a registration link for tryouts.
Equipment
We will order another defender extender training pad (for layups) for all coaches to use.
Preseason Coaches’ meeting date (all coaches)
We will hold a preseason coaches’ meeting to discuss tryouts, etc. sometime within the first couple of weeks of August.
Discussion on coaches’ shirts or other apparel to wear to games
MinistrySafe yearly fee
James made a motion to pay for the organization’s yearly MinistrySafe fee; Susie seconded the motion. All voted yes; the motion carried.
Discussion on possibly investing in more audio/visual equipment for games. Those who film games will need a training on how to use the equipment/upload games efficiently.
